
Jo Portlock
VP, Diversity Inclusion and Belonging
Lexis Nexis Risk Solutions (part of RELX)
Jo currently works as the VP of Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging at Lexis Nexis Risk Solutions (part of RELX). Her work includes implementing the business D&I Strategy, delivering unconscious bias and conscious inclusion education, diverse talent sponsorship programmes, psychological safety and running a global network of 35 employee resource groups.
She is passionate that diverse teams working in inclusive cultures drive better results and give companies a true competitive edge.
In addition, Jo is responsible for the companies’ Early careers strategy which focuses on opportunities for women in STEM and socio-economic advancement. Jo’s role also includes overall leadership for Wellbeing and Wellness, Corporate Social Responsibility, and our Green sustainability goals of net zero before 2040.
Prior to that Jo worked as a Global HR leader for Reed Business Information, supporting the I.C.I.S. business and Corporate Support Functions teams.
Jo has worked in HR for over 20 years having worked for Reed Business Information, O2 Telefonica, the Co-operative Group and Carphone Warehouse.
She has a BSc in Psychology from University College London (UCL) and a MSc in Organizational Psychology, specializing in motivation, change management, judgement, and decision-making.
Jo worked as founding member of the Tech Talent Charter , an initiative to get companies to commit to improve the representation of women in technology. The charter now has over 500 companies as signatories in the UK.
She now serves on DIAL global’ s D&I steering committee working to advance intersectional diversity in companies and sharing inclusion best practices.
Outside of work, Jo loves early morning bike rides in the woodlands, is passionate about politics, a keen baker and mother to Maxwell a very active toddler.
